May 25, 2025 – Shenzhen, China
As part of our ongoing commitment to open smart home ecosystems, Sensereo proudly supported the 2025 Home Assistant Community Day in China. This vibrant offline gathering brought together developers, makers, and enthusiasts to share ideas and explore the future of connected living.
During the event, we showcased our latest innovation: a Matter over Thread smoke detector, designed to integrate seamlessly into Home Assistant setups. As one of the first fire safety devices of its kind, it offers low-power operation, fast local communication, and full compatibility with the Matter protocol—delivering a safer, more responsive smart home experience.
Thread’s mesh networking capabilities, combined with Matter’s universal interoperability, allow Sensereo devices to respond faster, consume less power, and integrate more deeply across multiple platforms. At the event, we demonstrated how this technology enables real-time alerts, seamless automation, and long-term compatibility for both residential and commercial applications.
We also shared the story behind Sensereo—how the company was founded with a mission to modernize fire safety through user-centric design and open technology. Starting from white-label product sales, we’ve evolved into a vertically integrated team developing proprietary hardware and software. Today, our products are sold across more than 20 countries, and we continue to build around the belief that safety should be smart, accessible, and beautifully engineered.
Engaging with the local developer community was especially rewarding. The insights and feedback we received reaffirmed our belief that fire safety should be intelligent, interoperable, and natively embedded within the smart home ecosystem—not treated as an isolated add-on.
Beyond product demonstration, we also had the opportunity to explore a wide range of smart sensor concepts being discussed by the community—from water leak detector to environmental sensing. These exchanges have inspired us as we continue to expand our product roadmap and deepen our support for open, decentralized ecosystems.
We’re grateful to the organizers and all community members who made this event possible—and we look forward to building smarter, safer homes together.
