Sensereo is pleased to announce that we have received the Thread Group Innovation Enabler Award for the first half of 2026.
The Innovation Enabler Program is a Thread Group initiative that recognizes emerging IoT companies based on the creative potential of their ideas and their use of Thread technology.
The Sensereo Thread Group Innovation Enabler Award recognizes Sensereo as a company rather than any individual product. It reflects our broader direction of applying open, reliable and energy-efficient connectivity technologies to smart home safety and environmental sensing.
Advancing Matter over Thread Home Safety
Home safety devices must provide dependable local protection while remaining reliable over long periods. Connected technology can extend this protection by making alarm and device information available through compatible smart home platforms.
Thread is a secure, low-power and IPv6-based wireless mesh networking protocol developed for IoT devices. Combined with Matter, it enables compatible devices to communicate across supported smart home ecosystems without relying on a proprietary connectivity platform.
Sensereo currently offers the MS-1 smoke alarm and MSC-1 smoke and carbon monoxide alarm. Both products have received Matter certification from the Connectivity Standards Alliance and use Thread as their network transport interface. These products demonstrate Sensereo’s approach to Matter over Thread home safety and open smart home interoperability.
From Individual Detection to a Connected Safety Portfolio
Sensereo is developing a broader portfolio covering smoke detection, carbon monoxide monitoring, wireless interconnected alarms and indoor environmental sensing.
The MS-1 Interlink combines Matter over Thread connectivity with wireless interconnected alarm functionality. When one interconnected alarm detects smoke, other alarms in the home can sound together to extend the warning across multiple areas.
Sensereo is also expanding into smart home environmental sensing with Airo, an upcoming air quality monitoring product.
Together, these products reflect our goal of making home safety and environmental information more accessible while supporting open smart home interoperability. They also demonstrate how connected fire safety technology can work alongside indoor environmental sensing in modern homes.

Through the Innovation Enabler Program, Sensereo will gain further access to Thread Group’s technical resources, certification support and industry community.
